1. Batch analysis and instrument import
Save a project as a template and apply it to a folder of data files: every analysis, graph and layout is recomputed, with a summary table such as EC50 per plate. Read SoftMax Pro, BMG MARS, Gen5 and Magellan exports, endpoint and kinetic, through a plate map. A watch folder analyses each new export as it lands; dioptra batch does the same from the command line.
Free: importing one plate-reader file, the full command line, re-running a project on new data by hand.
2. Journal figures and reports
Presets for Nature, Cell Press, Science, PLOS, eLife, ACS, Elsevier, APS and JPhysiol: width, fonts, line widths, DPI and file type, applied to every graph at once. A figure check for small text, thin lines, low resolution, colour pairs a colour-blind reader cannot tell apart, and mismatched fonts. Layouts at final size with panel letters. A methods paragraph with references, and a Word or PDF report of the project.
Free: SVG, PDF and PNG at any size, multi-panel layouts, colour-blind-safe palettes, the one-line methods text on each results sheet.
3. Prism hand-off
Write .pzfx files that Prism 5 and later opens: data tables with replicates, formats, row titles and exclusions, for a PI or collaborator who still uses Prism. Convert a folder of .pzfx and .prism files to .dioptra in one step, with a report of what did not carry over.
Free: opening .pzfx and .prism files, however many.
4. Records for regulated labs
The technical controls of 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 on a desktop without a server: named users and roles, an append-only hash-chained audit trail, electronic signatures bound to the record, and a validation pack with IQ and OQ protocols and an automated OQ that reruns the NIST and reference suites. Dioptra supports Part 11 compliance; the customer writes the SOPs and runs the PQ.
Free: the command history of every project, and verifying a file's audit trail and signatures.
5. Site licenses and support
One key for a department or institution, with no license server, no seat counting and nothing to install beyond the app. A shared template library on a network or synced folder. Email support with a reply within two working days, numerical questions answered with a reference, and early builds.
